About us
Established in 1983 as Offington Counselling Service, we are an independent local charity, serving the community of Worthing and surrounding areas.
We have helped thousands of people make changes in their lives and relationships to improve their emotional health and wellbeing, not only to benefit themselves but their families and communities too.
Our charitable aim is to provide counselling as widely as possible without profit. We are not funded by the NHS or central government.

BACP Accredited Services are high quality, professionally managed therapeutic counselling / psychotherapy services that have been independently assessed as meeting BACP's defined standards across a wide range of criteria.

All are counsellors are qualified or completing their training with a recognised training organisation.
Member organisations *
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Our standard fee option is £42 for individuals, but we also have a supported counselling option if cost could be a barrier, when we ask for £25 - £35.
We have a Bursary Fund (12 sessions) for those who cannot afford our supported counselling fee.

Counselling available Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 8pm
Office opening hours: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9.30am - 2.00 pm
Thursday 9.30 am - 12.30 pm
Further information
Counselling may be short-term or an open-ended, longer term arrangement. We work with you to decide what is most appropriate for you.
We work with local organisations to provide counselling for their employees.
