About me

I am a fully qualified and BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and advanced EMDR practitioner. I work with adults across a wide range of psychological and emotional problems and I have extensive experience working in private practice and for the NHS.

In addition to my core training in CBT, I am also trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT). I am also qualified in systemic therapy and advanced EMDR.

I have a friendly and informal style and place significant emphasis on the strength of the therapeutic relationship with my clients. I approach psychotherapy from a practical and common sense perspective and I consistently receive good feedback.

In addition to undertaking assessments and therapy, I produce a free treatment report and lapse prevention plan at the end of therapy.

CBT is primarily focused on the thinking and behavioural patterns that maintain the current problem and lead to emotional and physical distress. Unlike many of the reflective and passive counselling practices, CBT is a highly structured psychological process, focused on achieving specific results within a defined time period and based on proven research evidence.

You can find out more about CBT and see for yourself what my clients have to say by visiting our websites at www.sevenoakscbt.com or www.thinkcbt.com
