Will Scott MA PGDip MBACP(Accred)
I am an experienced psychotherapist, trained and qualified in the provision of both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I am accredited by both the BACP and the BABCP.
You may feel despondent or sad, feel very self conscious, be worried or anxious or phobic of something. You might have been affected by a traumatic incident or may feel that your self esteem has taken a knock. You may have been recently bereaved.
I am able to provide help and support.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a former Army officer and pilot, I am well versed in working under pressure in rapidly changing environments. I have the skills required to lead people into, and more importantly out of, challenging situations. Enabling strategic decision making and coaxing the maximum out of people is just part of the territory. Now I am an experienced psychotherapist and coach. I enjoy working with people who are keen to (re)discover their own potential and wisdom.
My diverse life experience is probably my most important qualification!
My original degree from Stirling University in Economics and Business Studies belies a life-long interest in business, commerce and politics. Shortly after graduating, I joined the British Army as an Officer in the Army Air Corp having trained at Sandhurst, and was selected to fly helicopters. I was promoted to the rank of Captain and spent three years contributing to the running of a regiment.
After leaving the military, I spent time in the City working for Equitable Life, and then, after a transformative experience of my own, I decided to retrain as a psychotherapist. I completed a MA in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from Birkbeck College with a range of clinical attachments in Higher Education, the Voluntary sector, and the NHS.
I worked for five years as a lead therapist for the London Fire Brigade (with a speciality in trauma) before starting my own private practice. I have recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from Kings College , London and I have 15 years experience working as a therapist.
I have a special interest in leadership development and coaching.
