Catherine Ogier MNCS (Snr Accred) - West Coast Counselling
Sometimes what is happening in our life, or has happened in the past, brings with it a significance and impact that is not always easy to understand alone. I would like to help you in trying to make sense of what is happening, or has happened.
I am a trained Integrative Humanistic Counsellor and I am committed to working with you in a safe, confidential non-judgemental environment. It is my belief that the 'therapeutic relationship' is key to progress within therapy and as we work together I will strive to offer you the best conditions to grow and reach your full potential.
I can work with you on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.
I offer a free 30 minute meeting for us to discuss what is happening in your life. This will also give you an opportunity to decide whether you wish to engage in a counselling relationship with me.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I am also a trained Supervisor having gained an Advanced Diploma in Counselling Supervision (post-graduate level). I currently have a portfolio of supervisees and am happy to work with other counsellors, or student counsellors, in this capacity.
I have significant experience over several years working with individuals who have suffered bereavement and loss. Loss can occur in many areas of our life, such as redundancy, loss of status, sudden illness, or any changes in our lives which affect us.
In 2013 I trained with 'Youth Access UK' working for '"Relate2U', a young person's counselling service available through 'Relate'. I worked in our local Grammar sixth form and the College of Further Education with young adults offering a general counselling service.
Having gained a City & Guilds Award in Teaching and Training I enjoy writing and presenting workshops and have recently completed some training for the volunteers of our local Post Natal Depression Support Group.
I am experienced in working with clients who have presented with issues such as depression, distress, anger, trauma and relationship issues.
