About me

Taking the step to get to know yourself is very brave. A therapist can be a helpful guide in supporting you in understanding your life transitions and experiences which may leave you feeling sad, anxious, overwhelmed and not good enough.

I am a psychotherapist specialising in trauma and personal healing, and I am interested in the story of YOU; what makes you feel, think and dream. This also means I want to hear about the sad parts of your story, and help you make sense of them so that you can grow into the version of yourself you wish to be. You are the expert of you, and I will be privalledged to facilitate a journey in which you can begin to discover your wisdom and true self.

Do you sometimes find yourself thinking about your worries over and over again?

I use creative therapy techniques to work projectively with difficult materials. We can use stories, objects, art materials, and play together to understand your internal world and how you can begin to flourish in yourself. The play and metaphors become a container for what spoken word may not fully describe. This can also help make sense of things that words themselves can't process.

So how can I help you?

I work in a person centred psychodynamic way, meaning that I am able to sit with the unknown and uncomfortable feelings with you. I specialise in:

  • Anxiety and Depression; also linked to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
  • Symptoms of Trauma such as overthinking, hypervigilence, dissociation, exhaustion, anger, withdrawal and more.
  • Chronic illnesses such as Fibromyalgia and Multiple Sclerosis that can be lifelong and difficult to understand
  • Identity and self-esteem- specifically linked to transitions such as starting school or work, grief surrounding loss of relationships, or coming to terms with a new diagnosis (Autism, ADHD, Depression, MS, and others)

I think it is brave to take that first step to seek therapy, and I want to make that a choice you feel proud of. You can email me to ask more about my approach and see whether I am the right therapist for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Master's Degree in Dramatherapy and a diploma in Clinical Supervision. I am registered and regulated by the Healthcare Professionals Council in the UK.

I have over 6 years post qualifying experience within a range of different settings including NHS, charity, education and private sectors.

My clients are young people and adults who have experienced difficulties impacting on their lives and wanting to gain a better sense of self through self exploration.

When looking for a psychotherapist, it is vital you know that they are qualified professionals who are regulated by a professional body. You can find my credentials on the HCPC website.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I work in a trauma-informed way which means I see you as a whole person with life experiences, rather than just a problem that needs changing. I use compassion therapy techniques blended with creativity to help clients grow into the best versions of themselves. I am also informed by Internal Family Systems therapy to make space for all parts of the client.
