Wendy Russell MBACP
Do you feel stuck, lost not sure of who you are? Are you worrying about something, or over-thinking, confused, angry, lonely. It's hard fighting with yourself everyday and will wear you down, I know I have been there, however being able to Talk in a safe environment helps unlock so much, It can remove the masks we wear when we are pretending to be what others want. Counselling for my clients has helped to unlock feelings and thoughts, by exploring what is said and reflecting on things felt. I have no boxes to tick or agenda to meet. It is a non-judgemental space set at your pace and what you bring. It's your time to be heard.
I offer a warm, private, cosy counselling room with wheelchair access in a safe and confidential environment. This is your space to reflect on what is going on for you past or present. Life is a juggling act and sometimes we drop the balls,' It is ok to not be ok.' I offer an initial telephone consultation so we can get to know each other and go from there.
If you feel ready to talk, or have a question call or email me I am happy to answer any questions you may have. I offer flexible day, evening, weekend and online sessions. I cover Darlington, Stockton and surrounding areas.
How can counselling help and what to expect:
I offer face to face, Person-Centred counselling this means I work form your agenda and what you bring, It is all about you. I am also able to do skype and online sessions to help match the clients needs and wants.
I have experience in working with clients with a range of differing issues. My aim is to believe, understand and help you piece together information and patterns of behaviours. I am empathic, non-judgemental and will listen to your story. I am here to help you make sense of what is going in your life currently. I provide a safe confidential service for clients and keep them at the heart of the session, I am here to assist not direct. The stigma surrounding men and mental health needs to change. 'It is ok to not be ok.'
Many of us don't want to burden our family and friends with our troubles, or perhaps there is simply no-one there to listen. That is why you should consider seeing me, I will listen.

I became a counsellor because I wanted to be there for someone, so they don't feel forgotten, as no-one was there for my family and I in our time of need.
I began my journey of becoming a counsellor as I often felt as though I have always been someone people naturally turn too, a confidante people could trust. I want to be that person who makes a difference in a persons life, someone who listens and understands, who is just simply there.
I have experience of having counselling myself, so I fully understand what it is like to be in the position of a client not really knowing what to expect and the anxiety that comes with it.
