About me

I am a person centred therapist and happy to work with any concerns or anxiety that you may be experiencing in your life. I am non-judgemental and offer time, space and confidentiality for you to explore your needs, whatever they may be. These may include depression, anxiety, relationship issues, work, family or health related concerns or anything else you wish to bring.

I am happy to work either open ended, long term or briefly for 6 - 12 sessions, according to your requirements and budget.

I qualified in 1989 and worked initially with disadvantaged young people and later became a school counsellor in Hampshire secondary and primary schools. I have since worked in the NHS and private practice.

I work with Adults, Children and Young People and Couples and have a full DBS.

I work in a quiet and comfortable room in Fleet, Hampshire and receive client referrals through Self referral, Employment Assisted Programmes, Health insurance, Social Services, Adoption agencies and GP's.

I use a variety of theoretical approaches which are dependent on the individual's needs. These include: Person Centred, Rogerian, Transactional Analysis (TA), Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), Solution Focused (SFT), Emotional Freedom (EFT), Relational, Gestalt, Sand tray & Play therapy (mainly with my younger clients).

I am a Senior Accredited member of the BACP and abide by their code of ethics and, in accordance with their policies, I have regular consultative supervision. This ensures that I fully meet the needs of my clients and offer them the best service possible. I also hold full public liability insurance.

The first time that we meet is an exploratory session to ensure that you feel happy and comfortable to work with me and that I feel that I have the experience and skills to work with your concerns. I look forward to meeting you.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
