About me

Counselling for individuals

Depression and anxiety are difficult to face alone. I am here to really listen and will work with you to get your life back on track and in control.

Do you suffer from low self-esteem, body image, relationship problems, anger or gender identity? I am trained and experienced to be able to provide you with a kind, caring, and a confidential safe environment, enabling your difficulties to be explored.

Counselling for families

I work with families who may be struggling with a wide range of issues. It could be that your family has had a change in dynamic (a new child, relocation, death in the family etc), a split or maybe you're a newly blended stepfamily.

If you are interested in resolving conflict and reducing stress and anxiety then coming together in a neutral, large, calm and relaxing family room with a welcoming and approachable therapist could be just what you need.

There is no judgement here, just an opportunity for peace and calm to be restored.

Counselling for adolescents

I have lots of experience working with adolescents and their unique set of requirements. I've successfully worked with them on the following issues:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • self-harm
  • low body image
  • sexual orientation.

Please do contact me if you would like further clarification on any of these points.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • DIPHE Undergraduate Diploma Level 5 Counselling - Anglia Ruskin University 2011
  • BA HONS Degree Therapeutic Communications and Organisation - Essex University 2016

I have worked for three organisations counselling for over 9 years now. I have excellent references and results.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.
