About me

I am a BACP accredited counsellor and have been working in private practice for over 10 years offering both long and short term counselling. I work in my own home which is a few minutes walk from Norbiton station and convenient for 57, 85 ,213, K2, K3, K5 and 371 bus routes.

My approach to counselling is Gestalt which is a form of Humanistic Counselling. Gestalt counselling focuses on the whole person: mind and spirit.

I can offer you a confidential and safe place to explore you feelings and where you can talk freely about the things that you are struggling with. Together we can identify and look at any problems (past or present) that you are experiencing in your life and where you might be stuck in patterns of behaviour that are no longer helpful. Understanding the past can help us make sense of the present and help us to develop a deeper awareness and understanding of who we are and how we are in relation to others. I offer a creative approach which can help you experiment with new ways to cope with stressful issues.

The aim of counselling is to help us become more aware of our true selves and how we function in the world. Increased awareness with support from the therapeutic relationship can develop our own capacity for choice and change. I believe that each individual person has the potential within themselves to live a creative and full-filling life.

I can offer you support in many areas such as:

  • anger, difficulty in expressing feelings
  • bereavement, grief and loss
  • career changes, redundancy
  • depression, negative feelings
  • life changes e.g. retirement
  • loneliness, isolation
  • low self-esteem
  • relationship issues
  • self-development
  • self harm
  • stress, anxiety, panic

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
