About me

Hi, I'm Wendy. I know that living our best life is not always easy.  Anxieties in many forms are present for us. Anxiety makes our lives more complicated, chaotic, confusing and overwhelming. But we can work through it.

Why Counselling?

Events happen that destabilise our lives: people we love leave us by choice or by death; we lose things we treasure - pets, jobs, friends; past traumas re-emerge in our lives and bring back unwanted emotions and images that we find difficult to deal with, relationships breakdown or we just become stressed with the pace and demands on our lives. Any of these can leave us anxious and struggling to function well in other parts of our lives. Such times are hard to manage and deal with alone. They occur when we least expect them.

How can I help?

Sharing our experiences can be powerful.  As a counsellor I can be beside you during these times, listening to your fears and helping you identify the choices open to you. You can do this face to face with me, online or by telephone.

Through counselling I can offer you time and space to examine and work through your challenges. I can listen and support you in exploring your feelings of anxiety, isolation, loss, bewilderment and confusion. Together we can identify the triggers for your feelings and emotions and look at how you can get back to living your best life.

As we work together you will be seen and feel heard as an individual. We can walk your journey together with compassion and energy.

What to expect in your first session

This is your opportunity to share what you are experiencing in terms of what has happened, your environment and relationships, the emotions you are experiencing, how they manifest themselves and what it is you wish to achieve through counselling. This enables me to accompany you fully in exploring your options and supporting you to towards living your best life.

Bereavement, loss and anxiety are my specialities and I have several years experience of counselling and supporting clients in these areas.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained as a person centred therapist - meaning I am led by you and work at your pace. You won't be told what to do rather I will support you with exploring what is right for you and making your own decisions to enable you to live a fulfilling life.

I have undertaken further training in bereavement, stillbirth and infant loss and trauma.

My background is in communications, specialising in internal communication.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
