Wendy Beaumont M.B.A.C.P. Dip Couns
I provide a friendly, confidential, safe and supportive environment near Halifax Town Centre. You will be treated with respect and not feel judged. Counselling and the therapeutic relationship may enable you to make changes, help you to feel more in control, work through whatever it is that is causing distress and find new ways of being. I am an experienced Counsellor and deal with a very wide range of issues including abuse (mental, physical, sexual), anger, anxiety (general, obsessive compulsive anxiety, panic disorder), bereavement, binge eating disorder, body image dysmorphia, bulimia nervosa, compulsive eating behaviour, depression, divorce and separation, family issues, guilt, loneliness, counselling after an industrial injury, loss and grief, low self esteem, redundancy and unemployment, relationship issues, stress and work related stress.
When I looked to find someone to talk to I hesitated, as I didn’t know what I was looking for in a counsellor. I knew I had lots of thoughts going round in my head and was not able to make sense of them. I came to Wendy hesitant of the process of unburdening myself. I need not have worried. I found her easy to talk to. Her gentle style put me at my ease. I didn’t feel silly. In the end I only saw her 3 times but these visits have made all the difference to me. Jane
"I had put off counselling for a number of years, not knowing what to expect and I guess nervous of what it may involve. I eventually realised I had to move on in my life, and no matter how upsetting or painful it may be, counselling was the only way I would achieve it. Within the first couple of sessions with Wendy, I found myself wishing I had seen a counsellor years ago. Wendy immediately put me at ease and to be able to see her in a comfortable environment just helped even more. Wendy helped me realise my answers, my strength and my way forward all lay within me. I found for the first time in years, I could start to believe in myself and face life with a whole new outlook.
Caring, encouraging, completely non-judgemental and non-confrontational, Wendy's approach cannot be commended highly enough."
I wholeheartedly recommend Wendy as a Counsellor
As someone who has had complex issues to deal with over the last 18 months, relating to shame, self-sabotage and anxiety, I have found Wendy's positive approach through person-centred Counselling and CBT very useful and enlightening.
Hi, my name is Richard and two years ago I had a bad accident, a fall from 25 ft. I suffered horrible injuries and had a really negative time with the accident. I have lost the use of my right elbow, both wrists are damaged and back pain. That's the problems I have been left with.
I suffered with a bad temper, frustration and lots of anger. My sessions with Wendy have helped me control my emotions, be less short tempered and not so angry. I will never get back what I have lost and still suffer frustration and anger, but with the help of Wendy I have been able to see the positive side and control my emotions so life seems a lot more brighter.
Wendy is fantastic, from the moment I walked into her office till I left my last session she was nothing but welcoming, reassuring and kind. I found the office to be really welcoming and felt comfortable sitting across from her. Wendy put my mind at ease from the moment I met her and although sometimes what I was telling her felt silly, she didn’t judge me or laugh it off. She helped me to come to terms with my experience and to understand my feelings, she helped me to express what I had kept inside for years just by reassuring me that it was ok to talk about it. With Wendy’s help I began to understand what I had been through and I was able to see I wasn’t alone.
Throughout my sessions with Wendy I felt more positive and could feel a change in myself, I was more excited about the future and was able to close doors on my past. I was at rock bottom when I met Wendy, I was struggling to keep my emotions together and spent most of my time crying or shouting at my children, however within a few sessions I could see a huge difference in me, and so could my children.
With Wendy’s help I am happy and enjoying life and everything it throws at me. The issue that sent me to Wendy is still there and still trying to control me however I can manage it now and know I am better than it.I really enjoyed my sessions with Wendy and feel I gained a lot of help and support from her. Friends, family and co-workers have all commented that I am very positive now and seem to be in a better place than I was. I would definitely recommend Wendy for counselling she has been a fantastic help for me.
