Vivien Kay MBACP Senior Accredited Counsellor and experienced Supervisor
I currently offer FaceTime/WhatsApp counselling sessions which are an ideal way during these difficult times to access confidential, professional and emotional support.
I am a warm and non judgemental BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor/Therapist with over 30 years experience. I offer a free pre arranged 15 minute telephone consultation during which you can ask me any questions you have in order to help decide whether you want to book an initial face to face session. I offer both short-term counselling and longer term open ended therapy where I can offer you a safe and confidential space to explore whatever may be troubling you.
For many people life at times seems difficult, making us feel anxious and confused. Counselling can help to unravel past experiences which may have negatively contributed to how we manage our lives now. Earlier learned patterns of behaviour influence the way we see and relate to others and our ability to be happy and live life to the full. Counselling can help us to understand and change unhelpful ways of living our lives so we can become happier, less stressed and more confident about who we are.
During our first face to face session, I will listen to what you want and together we will plan the best way forward. No problem is too big or too small and counselling/therapy can help to unravel and make sense of what is making you feel anxious, stressed, angry, confused or sad.
I see individuals and couples for counselling/therapy as well as offering student and qualified counsellors Supervision in Salisbury.
For many years I have worked with students and staff at a University Counselling Service where I was Clinical Lead and also supervised student and associate counsellors on the Counselling Placement Scheme.
Relationships can be difficult to manage and sometimes it's not easy to know whether it is life's normal ups and downs that are causing things to go wrong or whether it is something more serious. I can help you understand what is happening in your relationship and guide you whilst you work towards a more fulfilling life together. I can also help you to separate if this is the tight thing for you and support you whilst you manage the impact this may have on you and others who care about you.
It is useful for couples wishing to explore and work on their relationship to attend sessions together but not unusual for one of a couple to want to explore what is happening for them as an individual.
I am also a qualified supervisor and see individuals and groups - pre or post accreditation for supervision.
Parking at my address is for residents only. There are multiple car parks nearby.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
