Hi, my name is Vikki. Welcome to my page and thank you for taking the time to have a look.

About me

I am naturally a caring person which has led me to the path I am now on as a counsellor, supporting people when they are finding things too difficult to work through on their own. I feel privileged to be able to offer a safe, non-judgmental, caring ear and enable my clients to feel really heard and understood, maybe for the 1st time, which has empowered them to take back control and make changes that have aided them to go in the direction they want to go in.

I am trained in person-centred therapy, which is a non-directive, client-centred approach. I value you as an individual and offer a safe, warm, empathic and confidential environment, to help build a trusting therapeutic relationship with you, enabling you to feel safe to explore your innermost thoughts and feelings.

How counselling can help

Counselling can help you start to understand yourself; how you think about things, what has influenced your way of relating to other people and certain issues. It can empower you to make changes in your life that will help to steer it in the direction you want to go, rather than feeling stuck or repeating the same patterns of thinking and behaviour.

It can sometimes be difficult to take the first step to contact someone and ask for support, worries and fears of the unknown can hold us back and prevent us from taking that leap of faith. We all need support at some point in our lives, it doesn't make us weak, it just means the load we are carrying has become too heavy and we need to lighten the load. As a counsellor I am here to offer you support, to work through the issues you have been finding difficult and explore your individual journey, to discover the answers you are looking for.

What to expect in your first session

I offer a reduced fee for the initial session, to give us an opportunity to get to know each other and talk through how things are for you and what you would like to achieve from your counselling sessions. It is also a chance for us to discuss the boundaries of the sessions, in regards to things such as confidentiality and the limits of this within the sessions.

Further information

My experience includes offering counselling for service users of a drug and alcohol misuse charity. Working as part of a bereavement support team for a hospice, offering 1-2-1 support for family members of patients of the hospice. Working with children and yp within a school environment, offering them a warm, safe and confidential space, to explore through play, the issues in their life they may be finding difficult to process and make sense of.
