About me

Hello, I'm Victoria, a Counsellor and Psychotherapist providing a non-judgmental and empathetic service to support my clients to get to where they want to be.

The combination of my own life experiences and my work life have given me a wealth of experience that has developed my understanding of how individuals may feel in the world we live in. I believe we are the experts of our own lives but sometimes we allow past events or influences of our environments to alter our true self. I offer a safe environment to provide a listening ear and to empower you to explore your inner self and to encourage you to get to where you want to be.

My role is to facilitate the exploration of your feelings and to support you in working towards any changes that you have decided you would like to make. I understand that you may not know what support you need, what changes you want to happen or why you are feeling the way you do. My role is to listen and help you understand why you have those questions and if possible, help you answer them.

I work with you to form a relationship of trust, to listen to you and comfortably sit with you if you feel times are getting tough. I particularly specialise in working with autistic adults navigating life topics. I also specialise in working with clients within the field of bereavement, anxiety and preparing clients for the loss of a loved one.

Working together

Choosing the right counsellor for you is important on the effectiveness of therapy, therefore I offer a free 30 minute telephone consultation so I can assess your needs and you can see how you feel talking to me.

My model of counselling is integrative, drawing on components from Psychodynamic Theory and Humanistic Theory. I am trained and experienced in working with both adults and young people.

I always ensure that my clients are the centre of our work and we work together to get to where you want to be. I offer online (zoom) and telephone counselling, on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I look forward to your contact.

Training, qualifications & experience

My experience spans over 18 years working within the mental well-being field. For 7 years I was employed by CXK Ltd, working with young people aged between 12 and 19 on a one-to-one basis offering Emotional Support Sessions in a variety of Kent based schools. The experience of working with this age group has enabled me to become specialised in working with young people.

For over 3 years I worked in a voluntary capacity offering Counselling to Carers through a local carers agency in London. Within this role I specialised in the areas of bereavement, anxiety, identity change and preparing for the loss of a loved one. At this same organisation, I work as a counsellor offering sessions to people who are in a caring role.

Currently, I work with a variety of private clients offering online therapy following obtaining my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I work with a range of clients who present with different issues ranging from anxiety, anger, relationship breakdown, stress and many more. Being a registered member (384940) of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy ensures the work I do meets guidelines so that my clients agenda and well-being is paramount in all the work that I do. I also work with other counsellors supporting them with their clients after obtaining my Level 6 Supervision in Counselling qualification.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
