About me

Hello, I provide a warm confidential therapeutic environment and tailor my training and experience to meet your individual needs.

Qualifications are not the most important factor in helping people find pathways back to well being and happiness. While I am highly qualified in this field, I believe that each individual has the answers to their difficulties within themselves, so the therapy I offer is very much about shared journeying at the client's own pace.

I was drawn into counselling and psychotherapy both as a result of my own personal experiences and because I have always loved listening to individual stories and helping people find their own meanings and pathways forward.

I work from home and charge on a sliding scale. Sessions normally last one hour and parking is available. Clients are welcome to bring their dogs if they find this helpful!

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a PhD in working with depression and and anxiety which focused on helping people to find experiences of lightness and aliveness which shift the heaviness of depression and the painful experiences of anxiety.

I also studied Social Science and Social Work at Oxford University, my Masters was in working with young people with eating disorders.

I trained as a Core Process psychotherapist at the Karuna Institute which applies Mindfulness based techniques to work with a wide range of presenting problems at a level of depth.

I have worked in prisons, in Adult Mental Health teams and for the past 20 years with adolescents at Highlands College and the Brook Advisory Centre in addition to having a private practice.
