About me

Hi, my name is Victoria and I'm a counsellor in the Formby & Liverpool City Centre branches of Pinewood Counselling Service.  If you’re looking at this web page, my guess is you are looking around to see what is available to help you.

Why not take the first step and get in touch? Our initial half hour appointment is always FREE and I would love to help you.  I will offer you a really safe and confidential space to talk and, by listening, I will help you explore your anxieties and support you as you discover solutions to your problems. Some things don't have a solution, such as the death of someone very close to you.  In such cases, I can help you work through your grief and come to terms with things which cannot be altered.

Our initial consultation will give us an opportunity to discuss your needs and if you do decide to carry on, we will arrange a regular time to meet up each week.

Each session will be quality time for you to talk through your problems in a non-judgmental setting that will  be uniquely tailored to you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have an MSc in Health Psychology, a BSc in Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, with additional training certificates in Infertility, Peri-Natal Mental Health, Trauma, Couple counselling and CBT.

I am passionate about the benefits of counselling and love my job as a Counsellor in a local NHS Hospital.  I worked for many years at the Samaritans and have experience of working with a wide range of issues, including affairs/betrayals, generalised anxiety disorder, bereavement, bullying, couple counselling, depression, exam stress, family issues, infertility, low self-esteem, medico-legal issues, miscarriage, panic disorder, post-natal depression, relationship issues, road traffic accidents, separation and divorce, sexuality, shame/guilt, sleep problems, stress, suicidal thoughts, trauma and workplace issues (including work related stress and workplace trauma).

I am a member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS) as well as the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA).  I am also a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and am bound by their Ethical Framework.

My work is fully insured. I hold a current CRB certificate.

Testimonials:-

"The counselling has really helped, I feel massively better, far less anxious and much more optimistic about the future.

"
Our sessions have been of great help to me, more than I ever expected they could be.  You've been exceedingly kind and supportive and have helped me to come to terms with a number of aspects of my personality, and behaviours that I never would have been able to confront on my own".

At first I thought it'd be difficult to talk to a stranger but actually it really helped talking to someone who didn't know the people involved ... it really helped clear my head".

"Thanks for all your support and understanding.  You've helped me through some really dark times".

"I'm so grateful to you ... it's not been easy but I feel a lot happier now, the happiest I've felt for years".

TAKE THE FIRST STEP AND E-MAIL ME NOW SO THAT WE CAN ARRANGE YOUR FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION.  I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO REPLY IMMEDIATELY BUT I AIM TO REPLY WITHIN 24 HOURS.
