About me

Anxiety, relationship issues, depression, family issues, addictions, abuse, bereavement and trauma, can have a huge impact on your overall health and well being, relationships and daily life.
Have you been feeling angry, frustrated, worthless, sad, fearful, alone or stuck?

Some of these feelings can be normal, however, living with constant negative thoughts and feelings can hold you back from developing healthy relationships and reaching your full potential. Whilst we cannot change other people and we often cannot change difficult circumstances which we find ourselves in, counselling can help us to adapt our own responses with better self-awareness. In my practice I offer my clients a professional relationship where it is safe to explore their experiences in confidence and without judgement.

I am an Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I offer an integrated approach to counselling which combines Person Centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis. The integrative approach recognises that there is no 'one size fits all' in therapy, and that there are great benefits to clients being able to draw on a range of therapeutic approaches.

Counselling provides an opportunity for you to talk in a way which explores what is going on in your life, and helps you to work towards change. Together, we can develop a trusting counselling relationship which enables you to identify your needs, feel heard and understood.

Each session lasts 50 minutes, on an agreed day and time each week, in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment. I offer adults, and young people counselling face-to-face, online or telephone.

Our first meeting will be an opportunity for you to decide whether I am the right counsellor to help you.  We will be able to discuss how I work and what your expectations of counselling are. I will be interested in finding out a little more about you and your reasons for seeking counselling at this time. Should you decide that you wish to engage in counselling with me, we will then arrange a series of further sessions. The amount of counselling sessions is dependent on you. For some, short term work helps them to move forward quickly, whilst others benefit from longer term support.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
