About me

Have you been feeling stuck and would like to see a change in your life? Are you having relationship difficulties? Do you find yourself overwhelmed by anxiety?

I am a Psychotherapist based in London with international experience, working with adults to provide therapy that is confidential and non-judgemental.

The kind of therapy I practice is based on the psychoanalytic tradition, which means that we look at how the problem you are facing today is linked to your past experiences; we explore what unconscious processes lay behind your present challenges and help you understand and overcome it.

We will unpick the reasons why you might be facing the current difficulties and explore different ways forward. We will do this at your own pace and without judgement. You will have the freedom to speak about anything that is troubling you in our sessions or anything on your mind (what is called “free association”) and, with my support, we will unpick it and help you understand and face the challenge. As a psychodynamic therapist I will also be tuned into any unconscious clues that help us to understand more of your inner world and your ways of relating to others.

Psychodynamic therapy is particularly helpful to people who wish to understand themselves and their difficulties more deeply, rather than only seeking symptom control. It is an open-ended kind of therapy, meaning that we won’t set a number of sessions at the start of the work but rather, the work will be ongoing until you feel you are ready to end our work together.

There are many different reasons that bring people to counselling or therapy, so if you have any questions or to discuss how I can help, please contact me.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training began in 1999 with a BA in Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. In the United States, a psychology degree encompasses a generalist training that equips the psychologist to assist a wide range of people. The training is a rigorous programme that combines academic coursework and supervised clinical experience with an aim to train them to assist people with varying mental health challenges.

Since then, I have completed a number of qualifications at Master’s level, including a UK-based counselling training and a four-year postgraduate specialisation in psychodynamic psychotherapy at WPF Therapy, which is grounded in the psychoanalytic approach. Obtaining these qualifications has involved years of therapy, of supervised clinical practice and working with a range of psychological difficulties.

Qualifications, training and memberships (dual American and British training):

  • BA in Psychology – Cum laude - University of Pennsylvania (USA)
  • Certificate of HE in Counselling and Counselling Skills - Birkbeck (UK)
  • Certificate in Clinical Assessment Skills – WPF Therapy (UK)
  • Postgraduate diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy – WPF Therapy (UK)
  • MBA – London Business School (UK)
  • MA – College of Europe (Belgium)
  • Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Member of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling

I have lived in several countries across three continents and worked in both the private and public sectors. My experience also reflects a diverse client base: I have worked with people from the financial services, public sector, and creative professions. My clients have included people struggling with self-esteem, relationship and sexual difficulties, depression, anxiety, trauma.

I have completed two qualifications at Master’s level, a UK-based counselling training and a four-year postgraduate specialisation in psychodynamic psychotherapy at WPF Therapy, which is grounded in the psychoanalytic approach. Obtaining these qualifications has involved years of therapy, of supervised clinical practice and working with a range of psychological difficulties.

I am recognised specialist with AXA PPP healthcare, Aviva, Healix Health Services and VitalityHealth.

Fees

  • Sessions last 50 minutes and cost £85.

You can email me, or text me to arrange a call back so we can set up an Initial consultation. This is a face to face meeting where we discuss what is troubling you and what you hope to achieve from therapy. It's a chance for us to meet and to decide together if weekly therapy sessions with me are the best way forward. You can read more about our first session together and about psychotherapy on my website.

Once we start therapy together, we would meet at a fix time and day every week.
