About me

As an experienced integrative Counsellor, Lecturer, Trainer and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists I offer you acceptance, understanding, skills and experience gained over many years of working in Education, the NHS, with Social Care providers and charitable organisations.

Whether you are reading my profile for yourself or on behalf of a young person I offer a warm, non-judgemental, confidential space. In reading this profile you are making the first move in addressing something that upsets you, prevents you from living life fully or stops you doing the things you really want to do. You may recognise that bottling things up or trying to ignore them is pulling you down further. You are probably also recognising the need to do something about it and want to work things out with someone who will listen and work with you to help yourself.

Together we can explore issues that you are struggling to cope with or find troubling. Whatever you’re experiencing we can build a collaborative working relationship that addresses your needs, at a pace and within a learning style that suits you best.

Here's a summary of what I provide; it might help you get a clearer idea of what you feel you may need and all are suitable for children, young people and adults.

Evidenced Based Counselling (£40 per session)
Sometimes life events stop us in our tracks, unbalance us and make us feel detached from the rest of the world and those around us resulting in us feeling emotionally drained, in low mood and sometimes unable to cope or know where to turn.
Often the simplest of tasks become almost impossible and leave us feeling unsure, isolated and anxious. If this describes how you are feeling, then hourly Counselling may suit you best

Building Resilience (6 weekly 1 hourly sessions £192 per programme)
Many of us struggle with change, uncertainties or challenges in life. Developing resilience empowers us to gain strength in our ability to manage ourselves in a balanced way. Resilience allows us to take responsibility and to feel in control, to make fully informed decisions and respond to situations and challenges effectively.

Developing Self-Esteem (6 weekly 1 hourly sessions £192 per programme)
This programme is for those of us who lack confidence or are overwhelmed by everyday situations. Often, we feel worried about doing or saying the wrong thing or worrying about what others may think leaving us anxious and avoiding situations, people, places or events.
Through understanding, acceptance and a greater self-respect we can become more confident, capable and emotionally well balanced and able to hold our heads high in the knowledge that we’re ok.

Once you have a clearer idea, my suggestion would be for us to meet and discuss how we can work together. If, however you feel after that initial assessment that I’m not the best person for you I’ll make every effort to help you find someone who is.
If you would like further information or to discuss any of the above then please email, message or phone and we can chat about anything you’re unsure of.
