About me

There may be times when you feel overwhelmed by your thoughts or feelings.

Sometimes we can feel lost or confused.

Maybe you just need somebody to listen, someone who doesn't know you and wont judge.

Or maybe you would just like to find out more about yourself.

Maybe your experiencing a crisis and need immediate support.

This is where counselling could help. Talking through and exploring these issues can bring insight, which in turn brings change.

To me, the most important thing about therapy is the relationship between the client and counsellor. If the relationship is built on trust, support, equality and honesty, then it allows for a nurturing and healing process to take place.

I offer a non-judgemental and supportive space for people who are experiencing difficulties.

Training, qualifications & experience

l hold an Advance Diploma In Integrative Counselling, which allows me to draw on a number of counselling models including Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Transpersonal, Gestalt, Person - Centred and Relational.

I am a certified Psychosexual Counsellor and hold a Level 5 Certificate from The Grove and Accredited by Cosrt.  In my work as a Psychosexual Counsellor I work with individuals and couples. I believe that we are sexual beings and that sex is who we are not just what we do! Sometimes, physical  issues such as erectile dysfunction, pain during sex, rapid ejaculation can occur during sex or we may have past trauma or cultural or social beliefs that is blocking us from having a full, satisfactory sex with ourselves and others. I am aware that it can be embarrassing or shameful to talk about sex, therefore I offer a safe, non-judgemental space for us to discuss and explore these issues.

I have experience of working in different organisations including a Doctors Surgery, Secondary School, the RNIB (Royal National Institute For The Blind) where I specialised in Telephone Counselling.

I have  worked for RASAC where I provided specialist support to survivors of Rape and Sexual Abuse.

I have a Private Practice where I see client's and supervisees.

I also offer telephone counselling and on-line counselling to clients. I also offer walk and talk sessions if suitable.

I am an Accredited  member of the BAPC (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and I work to their ethical guidelines.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
