Vicky Bird - Accredited Counsellor
A space to learn about you. Would you like to understand why you feel the way you do, and learn ways to manage your thoughts feelings and behaviours? I am here to help you explore whatever aspects of your life you may want to better understand or change. I have been a counsellor for over 10 years. Experience and my own life journey has taught me me we all have mental health, and like our physical health there are times when it can be out of balance and we need help.
I work with -
- Anxiety, including Panic, Health Anxiety, Worry Phobias & OCD
- Relationship problems
- Anger management
- Young people specific counselling
- Self harm
- Personal development
- Womens health issues including menopause
- Life changes
- Fertility, Abortion, sexual health.
What to expect - I provide a private, confidential setting where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely, consider direction or find meaning. A place to talk openly in a way that isn’t always possible with friends or family. This can help you gain clarity, and work through problems, or difficult decisions.
My role is to provide a non-judgmental, supportive space to help you. An opportunity to learn how to help yourself on the not so good days….(and we all have them)
Counselling - I am an integrative counsellor, this means i may use different approaches depending on what you would like help with. If you choose to work with me there is no ‘one size for all’. Sessions and the length of time we work together will be suited to you.
People access counselling for many reasons, whatever your reason, it can be empowering, help resolve both long standing problems or more recent challenges and increase your sense of wellbeing. Sometimes it can be hard to know where to start, this is something we can work through together.
Contact - Do contact me via email or telephone 07786016243 with any questions about getting started or to book an initial session.
First session - This provides an opportunity to meet and discuss how we might work together. To consider what you might like from therapy, and how i can best help you. You can then decide if you want to continue...if its for you.
I usually offer face to face counselling, however at present i am working online via Skype video. I also work with young people (from age 13)
I am insured and have enhanced DBS checks.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
