I am a BACP accredited Humanistic/Existential Counsellor, offering flexible appointments to individuals age 16 upwards. I place importance on my commitment to fair and ethical practice and have appropriate insurance and supervision.
I work from a comfortable, private therapy room (my counselling cabin!)and offer flexible sessions, of up to an hour, with frequency negotiable.
I am warm and congruent in my approach, taking care to get to know you and develop a trusting, therapeutic relationship. I aim to support your personal growth and resilience, enabling you to develop new ways of coping with the anxieties that life presents us....helping you get back to being the you you want to be, living the life you want.
I qualified in 2006 and have a great deal of experience helping people work through their experiences with many of life's difficulties, such as depression,suicidal thoughts, loss of meaning, self harm (inc substance misuse),managing mental health, sexuality, seeking purpose and self worth. I have a great deal of experience and training in helping people to work through the effects of childhood trauma/abuse/sexual trauma. I am trained in ASIST Suicide Interventions and happy to offer short interventions for immediate support.

With over 10 years experience in counselling with adults and young people. I hold proficiencies in Safeguarding and Suicide Intervention.
I have been a part time lecturer in counselling for the past 9 years, teaching all levels from introduction to Diploma levels.I currently teach on a BACP accredited Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
