About me

I am a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, supervisor and trainer with over 20 years post-qualification experience working with adults and children. The aim of counselling is to enhance self-awareness enabling you to manage your life more effectively. As well as exploring present difficulties, we can focus on your past to consider how previous experiences might be impacting on your current problems.

In order to do this safely, I offer a confidential and comfortable environment and work non-judgementally at your pace, recognising the uniqueness of your individual values, belief system and cultural background.

As a person centred therapist your needs, hopes and aspirations will guide the work as we find ways for you to explore your current difficulties and opportunities for making some changes, thereby bringing about a more fulfilling and satisfying life.

I integrate several approaches including Person Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Mindfulness and Psychodynamic Therapy. If appropriate I work creatively ( e.g. artwork, dreamwork, imagery ) to aid emotional expression.

NB In the light of the Coronavirus I have been working on line offering sessions via Skype or Zoom which I believe is the next best method of engagement whilst we have been required to keep social distancing.

I offer a free half an hour initial assessment session by phone/Skype/Zoom to allow you to decide if we might work effectively together and in which format to suit your needs.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
