About me

Hi, I'm Vicki, I provide integrative counselling to give you a holistic therapeutic approach to enable you to both build coping techniques for the here and now, but also I will work with you to find out why you are feeling the way that you do.

I have been working as a counsellor since 2009 and have worked in a variety of organisations. I have been a full time private practitioner since 2017. I have built a breadth of knowledge and experience during this time and continue to do so both through client work and through continued professional development. I am an accredited therapist, meaning that my work has undergone rigorous review by BACP, to ensure that I am working to a high standard. This means that you can be assured that I offer an ethical and professional service with client safety at its core.

My approach means that I can use a variety of therapeutic approaches to give you a counselling experience which is tailored to your needs. I believe that counselling is not a 'one size fits all' treatment so I will take the time to listen to what it is that's distressing you, and will adapt my style to suit your needs.

What to Expect:

I always start your therapy sessions with an initial assessment to ensure that you feel comfortable with me as your therapist. An initial assessment gives us both the chance to meet with each other and for me to get a really good understanding of what it is that you want to work on in your sessions.

At the end of the assessment I will ask whether you would like to book in for a therapy session straightaway or whether you would like to reflect on the assessment and have time to consider whether I am the right therapist for you.  There is no obligation to book in for a counselling session after your assessment.

I am able to offer appointments throughout the week at a variety of times. I can offer sessions via telephone; Whatsapp; Facetime; Skype or Teams so please do get in touch if you require remote sessions.

If you get in touch, I will be happy to let you know what days and times are currently available, I do my best to be flexible around your schedule.

I provide a warm, non-judgemental environment to allow you the space and time to explore the things that you have experienced and I work alongside you to find coping mechanisms to empower you to manage whatever emotions you are experiencing.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
