About me

Are you bottling things up inside, or suffering because of other people’s actions against you? Being able to talk about everything that matters to you and feeling truly heard and understood can help you to ease your burdens and feel able to cope again.

I am a professionally trained and qualified person-centred counsellor supporting clients with a wide range of issues. For me, deciding to become a counsellor felt like a calling, triggered by my own positive experience of counselling several years ago. I truly believe that counselling has the potential to help us change and grow towards our true potential. Being listened to with empathy, with compassion, can be a potent force for change. It can help us to confront our problems in a safe space and develop new perspectives, find new answers and feel better.

What I can help with:

Abuse, Anxiety, Anger, Childhood Trauma, Covid isolation, Depression, Difficult Memories, Loss, Stress, Relationship Issues, Self-harm, Feeling Sad.

I offer both long and short-term counselling. Due to the current pandemic, I'm currently offering all counselling sessions working remotely (Phone or Online using the Zoom platform).

You can call or message me now to arrange your free 30-minute consultation and decide whether you would like to book a session.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am degree educated and hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling awarded by the CPCAB. My independent counselling practice, Cherry Trees Counselling, is based in Nottingham. I have also been a volunteer counsellor at ISAS, a charity offering counselling to survivors of incest and sexual abuse since 2019. I am committed to continuing professional development and have additional training in suicide prevention, safeguarding and child protection, attachment, forced marriage and grooming awareness, adverse childhood experiences and trauma, childhood incest and sexual abuse. I am currently working towards accreditation with the BACP.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
