About me

I am a qualified, accredited and registered integrative psychotherapist & counsellor and executive coach.

I work with adult individuals, couples, and groups offering support for concerns around anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, relationship issues, overwhelm, panic attacks, work-related issues, stress, perfectionism, burnout, or lack of purpose.

Perhaps, you are unsure of why you are feeling the way you do and simply want to feel differently.

My special interest lies in interpersonal and relationship difficulties, cross-cultural and identity questions, and life transition problems.

The depth of my training allows me to work effectively with a variety of concerns including abuse, trauma, narcissism, and complex, enduring mental health issues.

I provide a confidential, supportive and non-judgmental space in which you can explore and talk openly about your life in a way which might not be possible with friends or family.

Most of my work is longer term, however, I also offer short-term counselling and time-limited Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) based on my previous work in the NHS.

English and German.

Alongside my private practice I work as executive coach in the corporate world and visiting lecturer at a London university, drawing on 15+ years experience working with individuals, couples, and groups in the NHS and other settings.

How counselling or therapy can help

Many reasons can bring us to therapy whether they are current difficulties, life-time struggles, a desire to reflect, or the wish to flourish and thrive.

Having a safe space where you can think, feel and talk openly about what's troubling you, can help you improve mental health and emotional wellbeing.

I believe that how we feel about ourselves is intertwined with our relationships with others. Thus, change is largely facilitated by two aspects in psychotherapy; that is, the therapeutic relationship itself, and the insight that can emerge through the collaborative effort between therapist and client.

I work with clients supporting them as they gain insight into repeating patterns and enabling their self-awareness.

Considering how the past might be alive in the present moment can help you realise unconsciously repeated patterns of unhelpful behaviour and undermining self-believes. It can give rise to self-knowledge whilst serving as a powerful agent that facilitates change and personal development.

How to get started

You can call, text message or email me.

Finding the the right therapist is very important. Usually I suggest a free brief phone or video call to help you find out a little more about me and how we might work together.

Areas of expertise

I see clients for a range of issues including stress, overwhelm, low mood, anxiety, relationship difficulties, intimacy, trauma, abuse, crisis, loss, bereavement, low confidence, and psychosomatic symptoms.

Having a multilingual and multinational background, I bring awareness of cross-cultural challenges, integration, and uncertainties that people face who are living abroad or going through transitional phases.

In addition to my clinical work, I also teach on international psychotherapy trainings.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
