Veronica O’Hare Senior Psychodynamic Psychotherapist MSc, Dip, MBACP (Accred)
I am a BACP accredited psychodynamic psychotherapist and supervisor qualified to masters level with many years experience offering therapy for adults, children, adolescents and families. I offer mainly evening appointments in my rooms in Giffnock at the rear of a busy community church building with free parking and good train/bus links.
I believe that anyone can experience challenging times and struggle with difficult feelings and I offer my services as a space to think together, as a way to try and make sense of the emotions and manage some of the feelings in order to cope better with life. Often anxiety can come out of nowhere and feel overwhelming or something we have known in the back of our minds can become intolerable to live with and these are times when coming for therapy can help. As a psychodynamic therapist I explore the place of the problem in relation to the past as well as present, in a relational-type approach that means we enter into a joint exploration of the issue. I am led by you and you do not need to talk about anything you do not want to
I have over 30 years experience of working therapeutically with people; starting out as a volunteer counsellor to people in crisis. I have since undertaken various trainings and worked for several organisations. I now divide my time between clinics for the nhs / social work and my own private practice. I offer private sessions to adults, children and young people, families, parents and other therapists. I work with a variety of personal issues, if you're unsure just email me your query and I will respond promptly. Some of my practice is spent offering therapy to parents struggling with their child’s behaviour or with the challenges of adolescence. I often work with parents and the child or young person together and also with children and young people directly. Although I have much experience of providing therapy to children and adolescents I also work with adults in distress. I am fully qualified to work with all age ranges. As I say do not hesitate to contact me for a chat or to see how it feels to talk together - it is important to get a good fit with your therapist
Email me or call /text 0770 2265471. I am happy to talk through your enquiry first over the phone.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
