About me

Whatever your reasons to seek therapy, be it coming to terms with pain, loss, illness, loneliness or relationship problems, or if you simply feel stuck, anxious or frustrated in your life and perhaps are not sure why, it is my aim to help you make sense of things.

My name is Verka and I have been a practising counsellor in West / South West London for the past 3 years. I am a humanistic counsellor offering a confidential space to safely explore your thoughts and feelings. I combine different schools of therapy and varied tools to create a personalised approach for each client that is based on what we agree together as the most beneficial for your unique circumstances and requirements.

My personal style integrates empathic listening and asking questions, so that we create a place in which you begin to understand what might be contributing to your difficulties, find more self-compassion, where new choices can emerge and new perspectives can be opened up.

I offer individual therapy on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.

I am experienced in helping clients who have faced difficulties with:

  • Stress

Further information

Based on my Humanistic orientation it is my belief that we all have a desire and capacity to live our lives to our best ability. As we go through life, however, we encounter set-backs, obstacles and significant hurdles which may make it less easy to see what is best for us or how to achieve it. I like to discuss with my clients how they are doing now but also make links to their past experiences or underlying behavioural patterns.

Our initial meeting is face to face and we will discuss what you would like to achieve through therapy. After this meeting we will both have the opportunity to decide if we feel that we could work together, and if so, we will arrange to meet again. The number of subsequent sessions will depend on your needs. We will periodically evaluate your progress and consequently reconsider the number of required sessions as necessary.

I endeavour to be client-led, dedicated to your needs and always respectful of your wishes and decisions.

Each session lasts 50 minutes.
