About me

COVID-19: The impact of this virus is far reaching and wide spread. In light of circumstance I am offering telephone sessions only for the time being. Please see fee below.  Updated: 22/3/20

Stress, anxiety, depression is no longer such a taboo subject, yet we often tell ourselves, I can cope with this myself or maybe nobody will want to listen because nobody has time, or how about I’m too ashamed and I blame myself so I will cope with this by myself...... Well I am here to offer you the space to speak the unspoken and explore worrying thoughts together.

The problem might be a recent incident that has left you feeling unsettled or a long-standing concern deep-rooted in unresolved trauma that has affected you e.g. sleepless nights, social anxiety, fear, a relationship issue, performance at work, mood, self-worth.

One way or another you are not alone. When accessing counselling with me you will be at the heart of my practice with the belief that a good therapeutic relationship based on warmth, empathy and readiness is our best starting point. I am passionate about counselling and driven to help you achieve your goals. My success rate in doing so fuels my motivation.

I have been a qualified counsellor from since 2006. I am down to earth, equality driven counsellor with experience of working with clients from diverse backgrounds. Reasons for attending sessions with me can be varied or a singular targeted concern. When you are ready to take the first step get in touch for a free telephone consultation. Contact can be through Counselling Directory or directly via my website by booking a free consultation. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

What to expect?

Once you have called or emailed and you are ready for counselling with me, we will mutually agree a suitable time for sessions to begin.

The first session is a 'getting to know you'  with an assessment to explore your needs, history and preferences etc plus questions that you might have about counselling and my practice.

I like to review progress every 6 weeks to ensure you are getting the best out of the sessions. We will review targeted concerns, discuss number of future sessions, endings and what to include/exclude for future sessions.
