About me

About me:

Hello and a warm welcome to my profile. My name is Valli (she/her). I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their code of ethics in my practice.

I’m deeply passionate about people and their stories which has led me to qualify as a counsellor. Creating a trusting relationship where you feel safe, understood, and acknowledged is incredibly important to me. I believe it’s essential for a successful therapeutic experience. Please feel free to get in touch with me for an initial free online consultation to explore how we might work together.

How I work:

I am committed to offering a service which is welcoming to all backgrounds, races, religions and cultures in a supportive, inclusive and non-discriminatory manner. My approach is rooted in understanding, support, and empathy. I can help you gain a deeper understanding of your feelings and thought patterns, while also guiding you in finding your own solutions to challenges. Ultimately, this will empower you to take control and move forward with confidence.

Counselling can help you to:

  • Gain clarity
  • Feel empowered
  • Recognize the choices available to you
  • Enhance your self-awareness
  • Identify your strengths and resources
  • Develop a deeper understanding of your world
  • Shift your perspective
  • Determine if you want to make changes in your life

Whatever your reasons for seeking counselling, my goal is to support you throughout your journey, helping to empower and guide you along the way.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Diploma in Person-Centred Therapeutic Counselling, and through my ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD), I am able to incorporate various other modalities to best support your needs.

To ensure my professional competence, I regularly participate in personal therapy, receive supervision, and engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as required.

I also worked for Mind UK where I provide counselling for adults on a short term basis.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
