Valerie Thwaites - MBACP
I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor with the belief that everyone has the ability to grow and reach their potential and lead happy and fulfilling lives.
I have experience in supporting people over a range of issues, anxiety, bereavement, depression, anger, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, relationship issue, domestic violence, cancer, self-harm, stress, infertility, post-traumatic stress disorder, trust, miscarriage, self-esteem, addictions.
I can offer you a safe, confidential, supportive, non-judgemental space to talk over any issues that you bring to the session. During this time we will develop a counselling relationship and explore your issues.
The name of the practice is Thwaites Counselling – I chose this name because it represents my name. My father passed away when I was a child and this service is a tribute to him. The name Thwaites originates from the forest it means dweller at the meadow – To me this represents growth and new life.
To Get Started
If you are interested in meeting with me to talk about what you want out of counselling and to see if we both feel able to work together, please contact me by calling, texting or e-mail to set up an initial session, and if you're happy to continue we can arrange to meet weekly/fortnightly. Sessions last for 50 minutes.
