About me

Welcome and thank you for choosing to begin taking care of yourself today. This is a great first step, as change is always scary and full of uncertainties.

My name is Valentina, and I will be glad to be part of your therapy journey and support you in gaining new perspectives on yourself and the world around you. As a therapist specialised in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I believe that you are the expert of yourself, so therapy will be tailored to achieving your goals and moving closer to your ideal self. I see therapy as an incredible opportunity to connect with your identity and reclaim your life.

I have multiple years of experience in mental health, including 6 years in the NHS alongside lecturing and supporting research. I specialise in short-term CBT, which will provide you with techniques to manage any types of anxiety, depression, low mood, and low self-esteem, empowering you to become your own therapist. If your difficulties are long-term and/or more complex, I am open to discussing longer-term support. A good therapeutic alliance involves a collaborative process where both the therapist and client work together towards common goals, with the client actively involved in setting goals and making decisions about their treatment. I understand that therapy may not have been a positive experience for some, and I'm here to explore that with you. Your feedback is valuable, and I’m committed to creating a supportive journey together.

In the last years I also trained and started offering Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, which is one of the most effective treatments for anxiety, depression, trauma, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I would be delighted to explore whether this psychological approach could be a good fit for your needs and help you achieve your goals.

Group Therapy and Workshops

I have experience in delivering group therapy and workshops consisting of 6-10 sessions aimed at organisations or mental health topics of interest. These sessions provide a toolkit of techniques to help individuals overcome emotional distress and feel more confident. I will also be glad to provide these courses one to one as they can always be adapted to individuals.
