About me
I am a person-centred counsellor based in Nottingham.
Why are you here: Do you feel you are struggling? Life can be very hard at times. A new diagnosis, a bereavement, a loss, or a change in circumstances, all can mean that you find yourself disturbed and, at times, needing therapy.
How I work: You can contact me through email or phone. I may not be able to answer straightaway, but I aim to get back to all potential clients within 24 hours. We can discuss your needs and book an initial session. This will help me know what it is that you are looking for in therapy. After that, we can book the next session. Most people like to book weekly sessions.
You may never have imagined that you would be looking for counselling one day. Many of us have felt the need for an empathic ear. I aim to offer a warm, compassionate and confidential space for you to bring your challenges. During our therapy sessions, you will feel supported through your journey towards your goals of happiness or contentment, or being heard and understood, or whatever goals you have decided for yourself.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified therapist. My modality is person-centred. This means that during our sessions, I will respect you and your decisions. I will aim to meet you where you are. In other words, our sessions will be led by you and what you are struggling with. I believe clients are the best experts on their experiences. I feel your story is best told by you.
I have worked with the Nottingham Women's Centre, where I was able to support women with a range of issues. Currently, I am at Treetops Hospice counselling service, which is a charity supporting bereaved and those with life-limiting illness.
Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
It can be very hard taking that first step to reach out to a counsellor. This is why I offer a free telephone consultation to see whether you feel my support would be helpful. There is no obligation for you to continue. Looking forward to hearing from you.
