About me

I am an highly experienced and well qualified generically trained Integrative Counsellor based just outside Stroud, Gloucestershire, who offers a warm and empathic environment for you to share your issues, feel heard and improve the areas of your life that cause you problems. I have worked as an Addictions Counsellor in a local drug and alcohol rehab for the past 14 years, but also work within the NHS Service and with many other issues.

I am a BACP accredited Counsellor, Couples Counsellor, EMDR Practitioner and Supervisor. I was also a foster carer for 5 years and have completed many child related/attachment training courses. Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.


British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Counselling sessions for Individuals are charged at £45 per 50 minute session and for Couples Counselling at £50 per session.

EMDR Counselling starts with approximately three information/history taking sessions that last 50 minutes and are charged at £50 and then subsequent EMDR Processing sessions that last 1 hr 20 minutes are charged at £65 per session.

Supervision sessions are charged at £45 for 50 minute with 1.5 hour sessions available on request, Skype & FaceTime sessions are also available. Sessions are available during the daytime, evenings and weekends.

Sometimes a 50 minute face-to-face Counselling session may not be what you need and Trudy will discuss other contact options i.e. telephone/email/online counselling where appropriate.

I offer a very limited number of reduced fee sessions for counselling students and those who are unable to pay at the full rate. Please contact Trudy to discuss this and do not let finances get in the way of you getting the help you need. If Trudy is unable to offer you her services at this time she will do all she can to refer you to an appropriate colleague/service locally.

Wheelchair user access

I offer a warm, friendly and professional Person Centred/Integrative counselling supervision for counsellors, therapists and other helping professionals within the Stroud/Gloucestershire area.  I offer flexibility to meet the most demanding of schedules, offering sessions during the daytime, evenings, Saturdays or via Skype and Face Time where appropriate.
