"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." (Lao Tzu)
I have had the privilege of helping many people who have had the courage to take that first single step and to venture into, through and past some difficult and complex issues, so that they can begin to become the person that they hoped they could be.Take a single step and call me on 07930 66 9999 to arrange an initial free 15 minute telephone consultation to see if you think that I could be the right therapist for you.
I am an experienced, accredited and registered BACP counsellor and an accredited EMDR (trauma) therapist. I have an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on many years of experience, a wide skill set and different theoretical approaches, to deliver tailor made therapy that fits the needs of each individual client I see.
I offer both short term and long term in person or remote therapy with adult individuals.
I have over 23 years of experience, 16 years of which have been in the NHS and I offer a kind, comfortable and safe environment for clients to talk in confidence about any troubling issues.
I work mainly using Psychodynamic counselling with EMDR for trauma cases and using some strategies and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is supported by N.I.C.E (National Institute for Clinical Excellence). I have found this to be a very powerful and effective therapy when working with people who have suffered major traumas, either caused by a single life changing event or by those more interpersonal traumas, perhaps suffered through difficult life experiences, maybe whilst growing up and getting through life in general. It can also be a very useful way to work with phobias, addictions, OCD, chronic pain and many other issues.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
