Dr Tracy Richardson, Clinical Psychologist (D.Clin.Psych)
*Please note that I am offering online and telephone sessions only during the COVID-19 restrictions*
I am a Clinical Psychologist with ten years experience working with individuals with a range of difficulties. I have particular expertise in working with psychological trauma and those experiencing personality difficulties. I am fully trained in EMDR therapy and DBT therapy and I have been a Clinical Lead for Trauma in an outpatient psychological therapies department.
My main aim is to provide you with a warm and empathic space to make sense of what is going on for you. I offer a range of therapeutic approaches that I will tailor to help you make the changes you want to make to get you closer towards your goals and values.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a Clinical Psychologist I am trained to use and integrate a wide range of therapies, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) . I have further training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and also Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I am also passionate about using approaches such as Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I have extensive experience of working with individuals with a range of problems, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, interpersonal difficulties and emotional regulation difficulties. I have worked in various psychological therapies services delivering individual and group therapy. This includes NHS and private settings. I have also offered supervision, training and consultancy work in a variety of settings including in inpatient units.
I believe it is of the most importance to work with you to understand what is going on for you and provide a space and guidance of strategies from the therapies I am trained in to work towards your goals.
It is not always easy to take the first step. It may feel difficult to make time to work on yourself, or perhaps scary to consider facing difficult experiences you may need to work through. If you want a space to consider how therapy can help you with this then contact me for an initial consultation to discuss.
I work online as well as in a therapy room in Market Weighton in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
