About me
Welcome to my profile.
I understand that looking for a counsellor and starting therapy can be a daunting process, that you being here has taken courage and strength, and now you need to find the right support for you. Could that be me?
I have 14 years of counselling experience to offer in a warm and welcoming, compassionate and non-judgemental therapeutic space, where you can explore your inner most thoughts, beliefs and feelings, while feeling safe, accepted and supported on your journey to self-awareness and acceptance. A place where you can heal your hurts, improve your self-esteem, develop resilience and take centre stage of your life.
How counselling can help
I am an integrative counsellor. This basically means I adapt my approach to meet your individual needs and goals. If you are looking for a safe place to talk through your thoughts and feeling, and make sense of your experiences, and heal your hurts. I will listen with compassion, empathy, understanding and curiosity.
I can offer strategies and exercises to help reduce symptoms of anxiety, panic and depression. I am Poly Vagal theory trained:- working with the body to help bring regulation and a felt sense of safety. Reconnecting the mind and body in this fast paced, cognitive orientated, stressed filled society.
If you want to gain personal insight and understanding of your past and present relationships, or life experiences. I can offer all of the above and the opportunity to explore frameworks, interventions, and observations for your reflection and evaluation. Supporting you to explore and make sense of how these experiences may have impacted on your present day relationships, beliefs and behaviours in response to interactions and challenging situations. Putting you at the heart of the therapy, enabling you to find solutions that not only make sense to you, but work for you!
If you want to make changes! We can work together to identify goals, and break them down into achievable steps, explore barriers to progress and strategies to overcome them. Build on and develop self belief and confidence in your ability to reach your personal potential.
Neurodiversity and therapy
Before qualifying as a counsellor I worked for 15 years in SEN educational settings, largely in a therapeutic role. Supporting young people with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties. Often the young people had diagnoses of neurodiverse conditions and/or came from diverse family backgrounds. I have a wealth of experience to offer both, adults, young people and parents who face the daily challenges of neurodiverse conditions.
Initial consultation.
I offer a free of charge initial consultation. This can be face to face, virtual or over the phone. The consultation is approximately 30-40 mins long. It is an opportunity for us to meet and explore your difficulties and goals for therapy, and enables you take make an informed decision of whether I am the right counsellor for you. BUT, I would say, if I'm not, it doesn't mean there isn't a right counsellor for you, so don't give up! you've come this far!

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
