About me

Hello my name is Tracy Dyer. I have an Honours Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling

I am accredited with the UKCP as a Clinical Psychotherapist and work with an Integrative model. I am a member of the British Psychological Society and also registered with Social Work England. I hold a Diploma in Social Work (Children and Families Specialism)

I offer, individual therapy and counselling for adults, older/retired adults and EAP services

Other specialist work could include:

  • Early attachment focussed interventions, e.g therapeutic re-parenting techniques
  • Promoting positive Mental Health and resiliance in children (advice to parents/carers)
  • Behaviour Management Support to parents (of children/young people 0-18yrs)

I have a particular interest in the transition to Motherhood and beyond, including how this may affect our sense of self, identity and emotional wellbeing.

I am acutely aware that due to the pressures placed on us in today's busy world, stress, anxiety and depression can be experienced and relationships become affected and I hope you are able to seek the right support at the right time to prevent these issues from impacting on the quality of your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 30 years of experience working with Adults, Young People and Families in the Voluntary, Private and Statutory Sector, including Health, Social Care and Education.

I originally trained as a Nursery Nurse in 1989 and following this, I went on to Qualify as a Children & Families Social Worker in 2001. I have subsequently completed a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a BA (Hons) in Social Science in Leicester. Finally I undertook 4 years of study to complete my Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Nottingham.

I have used CBT, Solution Focussed therapy and Social Learning theories within my models of working.

I have completed various Child and Adolescent Mental Health Courses as well as specialist training around trauma, I attempt to attend as many external courses as I am able to keep me up to date with the latest research and good practice.

I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Supervision from The Sherwood Institute in Nottingham (Spti).

I am fully trained/qualified in the Cfd (Counselling for depression) NHS/NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) course.
