About me
Hello my name is Tracy Dyer. I have an Honours Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling
I am accredited with the UKCP as a Clinical Psychotherapist and work with an Integrative model. I am a member of the British Psychological Society and also the Health and Care Professionals Council. I hold a Diploma in Social Work (Children and Families Specialism)
I offer, individual therapy and counselling for adults, students 16+, older/retired adults and EAP services
Other specialist work could include:
- Early attachment focussed interventions, e.g therapeutic re-parenting techniques
- Promoting positive Mental Health and resiliance in children (advice to parents/carers)
- Behaviour Management Support to parents (of children/young people 0-18yrs)
I have a particular interest in the transition to Motherhood and beyond, including how this may affect our sense of self, identity and emotional wellbeing.
I am acutely aware that due to the pressures placed on us in today's busy world, stress, anxiety and depression can be experienced and relationships become affected and I hope you are able to seek the right support at the right time to prevent these issues from impacting on the quality of your life.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have over 30 years experience working with Adults, Young People and Families in the Voluntary, Private and Statutory Sector, including Health, Social Care and Education.
I originally trained as a Nursery Nurse in 1989 and following this, I went on to Qualify as a Children & Families Social Worker in 2001. I have subsequently completed a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a BA (Hons) in Social Science in Leicester. Finally I undertook 4 years of study to complete my Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Nottingham.
I have used CBT, Solution Focussed therapy and Social Learning theories within my models of working.
I have completed various Child and Adolescent Mental Health Courses as well as specialist training around trauma, I attempt to attend as many external courses as I am able to keep me up to date with the latest research and good practice.
I am currently undertaking a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Supervision at the Sherwood Institute in Nottingham.
I am fully trained/qualified in the Cfd (Counselling for depression) NHS/NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) course.

UK Council for Psychotherapy
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
