Tracy Carter - MBACP - Integrative Therapist
Thanks for popping by, is it curiosity that brings you here or have you a dilemma you would like to share or explore.
A bit about me, I'm Tracy, I am a Freelance Counsellor working from my own practice in Belton, I feel I offer my clients - space, time to reflect, to truly be yourselves.
Although friends and family often want to help, sometimes it can be helpful to have someone independent to talk to, someone who won't tell you what to do and allowing sensitive or painful issues to be explored.
There is no limit on the amount of sessions available. I am professionally insured and independently supervised by an experienced qualified Supervisor. This is a requirement for all professional counsellors to ensure that we continue to practice in our clients’ best interests at all times.
I practice Humanistic/Integrated Therapy, I believe that the therapeutic relationship between the counsellor and client is paramount. I consider that each client is an individual with unique experiences and unique concerns.
It is not my role to give advice, or offer solutions but to enable you to explore your experiences and to understand your own needs and wants, through greater self-awareness, but I do offer encouragement if it feels right for you.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST COUNSELLOR FOR YOU.
There are a few of us !
- .. it is important to choose the one, whom you get along with, qualifications and training are important too..but those count very little when you just don’t get on well with each other.
WHAT IS COUNSELLING?
Counselling is a “talking therapy”. You can have conversations with your counsellor about difficult feelings, managing a difficult life circumstance or event, or about being puzzled over your behaviour.
Your conversations will invite queries/questions from your counsellor. The counselling relationship you’ll build (through weekly, private sessions) will grow to help you to make important changes to your life.
You might explore troubling – even terrifying (if you wish) – thoughts and feelings. They’ll be as shallow or as in-depth as you need – because your counsellor has experience in listening to the things you wish to talk about and will welcome any subject you have.
A quiet reflective space to be you, without judgement, to explore you and what you want to share.
It is all about your Relationship and how you both as individuals interact with each other and what positive changes you would like to make.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS - if your son/daughter/teen is having difficulties - please talk to them - they may be going through there own turmoil - if they wish to seek outside help (although it is there choice you cannot force them) discuss there options and if they feel they would benefit from a few sessions for support/counselling/ to off-load - please do get in touch.
What happens next?
I offer a 10 minute telephone assessment. We will discuss what your needs are with regards to sessions, and if you feel they can work for you, we'll go from there.
If I am unable to take your call/email please leave your name, tel no and a brief message, I will get back to you as soon as I can.
How long does each appointment last?
Each Appointments - 50 minutes
How many appointments will I need?
You may only want a few sessions to discuss what you need to share, which gives you the chance to 'dip a foot in the water', and sometimes it may be all you need to work through a particular problem.
Sessions are weekly.
