About me

I am a fully qualified Humanistic Counsellor ( MBACP) and have trained in Person - Centred, Gestalt (unfinished business) endeavouring to help give support in completion and closure to old wounds and emotions from the past that we may be carrying around with us in our present day life which then forms our future, plus Inner Child Work.

I work with a wide range of Mental Health issues , including Suppressed Emotions , Anxiety , Depression , Eating Disorders, Self - Esteem , Confidence , Stuckness and Blocks. I  help support you through the change you want to achieve and through what may be a difficult and upsetting time. Counselling can help support positive change and so help support a healthier life and wellbeing in going forward.

I can help with implementing strategies , through your exploration of what feels right for you , which can endeavour to support day to day coping , or for the change you want to acquire, if that is what you want .

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (  BACP ) and adhere to their ethical framework, I  also hold an Enhanced Disclosure Barring certificate (DBS).

I enjoy working in the moment, always open to the impact of what the client might bring, in a non-judgemental way. I enjoy working with adults on a one to one basis, for long and short-term work.

I have worked extensively in:

  • Bereavement
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • And many other issues.

How can counselling help?
No one has the ability to fix you or anyone, it comes from a deep innate self awareness within ourselves, we all have the answers we seek deep within us, and from our awareness and exploration an unfolding takes place, subtly and slowly, we gain more understanding, about our ways of being, behaviour patterns, triggers, anxieties and why.

We can then aim to change our patterns or ways of being, that will serve us better and help to support us mindfully if that is what we want. I help with this unfolding, and support the exploration with my skills and techniques, I adapt to the individuals specific needs and issues, which are discussed on the first consultation session; your expectations, and what you hope to gain from counselling, and in going forward.

How I work
I work integratively, using Person Centred approach but techniques from other approaches to best assist you and in meeting your expectations, and a healthier way going forward that best serves you.

I offer a safe and confidential environment to explore difficulties or issues you may be experiencing, with empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard, with an equality and in a non - judgemental space.

Your session is autonomous so I work with your agenda and issue at your pace, this encourages a trust and confidence to take place and helps support you to explore your feelings more thoroughly.

Using our voice in a confidential safe space, being heard and understood, and expressing our feelings are key, as it can help to release upset and anxiety and in coming to terms with what has happened,  it can also help restore balance and our own inner peace, and a sense of being able to move on having expressed the issue concerned at your pace empathically .

I work with you and your expectations from counselling to get what you want from your sessions.

I understand it can feel daunting, or out of your comfort zone to talk with a Counsellor. I am here to support you, the thought is often worse than the doing, you will know within yourself if you are ready, I am here when you are.
