About me

My approach to therapy is based in Person Centred Theory, which is the belief that we all possess the ability to develop towards self-actualisation. I believe that we all have an innate desire to grow, which the Person Centred approach can nurture and encourage. Sometimes I may call on other therapeutic tools and offer insight, but my philosophy is underpinned by the Person Centred approach.

I do not believe in expert lead therapeutic relationships; meaning that I believe that you are the expert of your experience, and you are free to explore these experiences without judgement; at a depth and speed that you feel comfortable with. I trust that you will know what is best for you.

In order for therapeutic change to occur, the relationship between us should be a collaborative one where you can feel safe to involve your whole self. I will endeavour to provide a safe and comfortable environment for you to feel safe to explore what could be difficult themes.

In order to provide a therapeutic experience that is right for you, I offer a range of session types - One to One, Walk and Talk Therapy, Online Sessions and Telephone Counselling.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold an FdSc in Person Centred Counselling which I graduated from in 2020.  As a requirement of this course,  I completed over 100 hours of client work.  Following this, I have been in private practice.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I have been involved with the Health and Social Care sector for over 10 years which has allowed me to focus my career on people, and their own personal experiences. I have been lucky enough to travel and experience different cultures and societies, furthering my interest in the complexity of people’s unique values, beliefs and development.

I have experience in working with many different themes such as addiction, narcissistic abuse, anxiety, depression, existential issues, eating disorders, suicide, traumatic experiences, sense of self, low self-esteem, identity, domestic abuse, relationship problems, terminal illnesses, bereavement, anger, sexual assault, childhood experiences and confidence issues.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I offer an opportunity to have a brief discussion over the phone, for free, prior to our initial session.  My initial fee for our first session is £40.  This 20% discount is due to the fact that during the first session there is a small amount of paperwork to complete; you will also have the chance to ask any questions; and most importantly, get a sense of how you would feel working with me.  Following this, my fee is £50 for a 50 minute session.

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday

I believe that therapy should be suited the client, which is why I feel that it is important to work as flexibly as possible.  Please contact me with your preferred times.
