About me

Tom Buckland. Registered Psychotherapist specialising in working with Anxiety and Relationships.

Online & Telephone Sessions Available

Have you had times in the past when you've really struggled? Or maybe that time is now?  Please call me on 07901522692 or email tombuckland55@gmail.com

We all struggle at times and the support of friends and family can be invaluable. But there are times when we need just a bit more support to help us through a difficult and painful time. That’s when seeing a professional is so important, to have a non-judgemental and confidential space to talk through what you’re going through, your feelings and your struggles, to help you come through this and reach a far better place. I'm Tom Buckland, an Independent, BACP Accredited  Psychotherapist and Couple Counsellor, based in Hythe near Southampton. I’ve been helping people through difficult times since 2003 and specialise in providing Couple Counselling (once known as marriage guidance counselling or relationship counselling) as well as working with Anxiety and Trauma. I often work in a solution-focused way, helping someone overcome their issue and move to a better place as soon as they can, but also work with longer-term psychotherapy to allow a person the time and space they need.

Individual Psychotherapy

Can be used for many reasons. You may be experiencing Depression, Anxiety or OCD. You may have gone through a traumatic experience, or maybe you just want to explore changing your career, your life or maybe your relationships. Whatever it is, I can work with you, without making judgements or telling you what you 'should' be doing, so can gradually get to the place you want, either emotionally or practically.

Online Counselling.

Counselling Online is an alternative if travelling distances are too large, or time too short, to carry out the face-to-face sessions. All the counselling skills are still used in the session, but you have the extra flexibility of choosing where you carry out the session.

Couple Counselling

The Relationship Centre

The centre (originally based in Harley Street, London) was formed by Tom and his wife Tina (also an experienced counsellor) as a hub for couple counselling, research and development around forming a better relationship. The counselling is evidenced-based and helps a couple improve their relationship, whether in crisis from an affair, or from years of indifference and poor communication. This has been developed from Tina and Tom’s experience in working with couples, and their belief that all relationships can improve with the right type of counselling.

Tom offers relationship counselling through the centre, and more details can be found at www.therelationshipcentre.org.uk

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration.
