About me

Hello, I’m an integrative counsellor offering you time, empathy and a confidential, friendly space to talk freely and explore your feelings. You have made that often difficult first step to counselling by searching on this website. I offer a reduced rate first session for you to decide if counselling is something you feel comfortable with. Because we are all unique,  counselling uses many approaches tailored to the individual.  In counselling we work together guiding you towards a more positive, balanced life.  Learning to understand ourselves brings acceptance and a calmness to our lives and talking openly will help us to get you through a sometimes very difficult time.

I have experience of working with people suffering from stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, suicidal thoughts, alcohol addiction, low self-esteem, disabilities, bereavement, abuse and many more.

Mental health and well-being has become more recognisable in today’s society. It is acceptable to not feel ok and this gives us the courage to seek counselling whether it is for anxiety, depression, phobias, past childhood experience, work or financial stress, relationship problems, past abuse or an addiction and many more. Some of these might take some time to work through. Others may be resolved by talking in confidence to someone outside your usual circle of friends, colleagues or family.  Life in general, is becoming more challenging and I feel counselling will benefit the majority of people with coping strategies and learning how they can react differently to situations they are faced with,  giving them a more positive mindset.

Working previously as a hairdresser, florist, within hospitality and retail, experiences have taught me about the various struggles people go through and live with.  I feel along with my personal experiences also I have had a valuable insight into life.  I decided to use these experiences to help others by gaining qualifications in counselling.  After benefitting from Hypnotherapy myself I also decided to help others and gained a qualification. I have always been fascinated by how the mind works and how we store experiences, good and bad, in our subconscious mind.

Hypnotherapy is very useful for many issues and also to teach relaxation techniques. Apart from my counselling qualifications, I hold certificates in safeguarding, suicide awareness and online counselling.  However, the learning never ends. I have worked at a school counselling the staff members and currently volunteer for MIND.

I am now accepting appointments for young people from ages 12 to 18 and will be offering talk and walk sessions as weather improves.  This sometimes helps to create a more informal session which some people will find easier to open up.
