Hello and Welcome,
I hold a deep love for the stories that are brought to the counselling room; these are woven by the meaning and sense that we make of our lives. Our stories are not fictitious or irrelevant, on the contrary, they bring to life how we relate to ourselves and others around us in a very real way.
I offer a therapeutic space in which we explore the hidden and obscured parts of your life’s challenges. By listening deeply, I seek to support you in bringing awareness to the various patterns, feelings or blockages that lie beneath the surface. This may generate different insights into yourself and the difficulties you face.
Looking for a counsellor that feels right for you may be daunting in the beginning. Our first session is an open space for you to consider whether working together feels like a good fit. If you have any questions, or would like to book a session, please email or call.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have experience working with:
- Loss and grief
- Fears and anxiety
- Existential roadblocks
- I hold a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Edinburgh where I am currently completing my doctoral research.
- I obtained a BA (Hons) in Psychology and Philosophy
- I have worked extensively in hospice care where I completed training on facing loss, illness, and bereavement.
I have a deep interest and appreciation for spiritual practice. Having lived in different parts of the world has also cultivated an awareness for the importance of difference and diversity. I continue to practice and attend continuing professional development training.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
