About us

Life can be challenging, and when you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or past experiences, it can feel like no one really understands. Maybe you’re tired of overthinking everything, feeling disconnected from yourself, or just not knowing how to move forward. You don’t have to go through this alone.

As a person-centred counsellor, I offer a warm, supportive space where you can talk freely and feel heard - without judgment or pressure. Together, we’ll explore what’s weighing you down, find new ways to manage your emotions, and help you feel more in control of your life.

How Counselling Can Help

• Manage anxiety and overwhelming emotions

• Work through past experiences and trauma safely

• Feel more in control and confident in yourself

• Develop healthier coping strategies

• Improve relationships and communication

• Create lasting, positive change in your life

My approach is warm and down-to-earth. I am trained to work with both children and adults. I offer online sessions across the country, or if you prefer face-to-face support, I have a comfortable therapy room in Haxby, York, with free parking right outside.

I understand there are many therapists to choose from, and it can feel overwhelming trying to find the right one for you. That’s why I offer a free 20-minute call and a reduced first session, so you can get to know me and how I work before committing.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked with individuals facing issues such as anxiety, low self-confidence, relationship difficulties, self-harm, bereavement, OCD and trauma.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
