Having trained and worked in the NHS for over 10 years, Dr Morvwen Duncan founded The Lotus Psychology Practice with a vision to provide mental health care that is accessible, individualised and evidence-based, to ensure the most effective results, personalised to you.
We are a team of highly specialised Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) registered Clinical and Counselling Psychologists offering psychological assessment and individualised therapy for children, young people and adults.

Training, qualifications & experience
All our Clinical and Counselling Psychologists have completed Doctorate Level qualification and training and are registered with the British Psychological Society and HCPC. Psychologists are trained across multiple therapeutic modalities, and the approaches are often integrated based on an individuals unique needs. The suitability of the therapeutic approach is informed by assessment and individual goals.
All therapeutic interventions are informed by scientific research and are and in line with National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines. Below are some of the approaches used within the practice:

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
