About me

Kim Lee runs The Children's consultancy (TCC) a specialised psychotherapeutic practice for Children, Adolescents and their families. The service is provided for children from infancy onwards, and parental guidance is a key part of the work. In addition, TCC provides assessment for a variety of purposes and can recommend therapists who work within its network. He works regularly with the media and holds full clinical membership with UKCP

Training, qualifications & experience

In addition to training with the Institute of Group Analysis (Introductory). The Centre for Analytical Psychotherapy and The West Midland Institute for Psychotherapy, Kim holds an MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy.

He has been working in the profession since 1974 and has consulted nationally to a variety of independent child care services (NCH Action for Children and Save the Children Fund) education and social services.

He lectures and teaches child development to parents and professionals.

UK Council for Psychotherapy

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I am particularly keen to enable parents to better understand the difficulties their children are experiencing, and to help them to develop ways of managing and responding differently to them.
