I understand that it's tough when life events stop you and/or your partner from living life as you want. I can offer a confidential, safe, non judgemental and trusting environment where you will be heard. I work with individuals and couples who are experiencing difficulties coping with life as it is now and who want to work on making connections, changes and choices for the future.
With over 16 years experience of working with clients, I offer a warm welcome environment. In your first session we can discuss what has brought you to therapy and focus on the changes you may want to make. I believe that it is important that you make choices for your future and I can help you to think about how you will do this.
I know that's it not easy to face some difficult issues and to think about how to make changes. For me, its important to develop a trusting relationship where together we can work on your issues and I hope that I can offer you help and the courage to make these changes.
With over 20 years experience of wellbeing training, I can develop and deliver workshops specifically designed around mental health issues and wellbeing tailored to your organisation's needs. I can provide support to organisations who have an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) in operation.
Training, qualifications & experience
Offering a confidential, safe, warm and non-judgemental environment is at the heart of my practice so that I can help you to explore your thoughts and feelings. I work in an integrative way incorporating person-centred, CBT and psychodynamic approaches into my practice. I also uses Mindfulness in my practice.
I qualified as a Person-Centred Existential Counsellor over 16 years ago. I am also a qualified Consultative Supervisor (supervising counsellors in their practice) and experience of working with couples to enhance their relationship.
I have experience of working in the private and voluntary sectors and I have over 16 years experience of working with the NHS - for the last 8 years as a counsellor working with a large Health Board in Cardiff and the Vale and with the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) as a counsellor working with survivors of current and historic sexual abuse.
I qualified as a trainer in 1990 and have delivered policy training and workshops for over 20 years. My training style is warm, relaxed, friendly, engaging and enquiring and I enjoy learning from others.

I provide an empathic, non judgemental and safe confidential environmentis at the heart of my counselling and supervision practice. I believe that given the right environment of acceptance, understanding, space for exploration and encouragement, clients feel more able to explore the issues that brought them to counselling and once connections are made then this will empower clients to feel able to make choices for their future. Once these core conditions are in place then a trusting and open relationship can develop.
I am very passionate about my work and really enjoy working with individuals and couples. I feel privaledged to offer consultative supervision to cousellors in order to help them enhance and develop their practice and I can guarantee a nurchuring and supportive space for exploration.
