In my long experience I have found that there will be many questions that you will want to ask before entering into counselling. Therefore, our 1st 1 hour session is an opportunity to ask each other questions, to talk about your expectations and also to get an idea of whether we could work together.
If you have been struggling with life for some time and no matter how hard you fight, you cannot beat your bad feelings, then the bravest thing you can do is to seek help.
I am 70 years old and have had a challenging and very diverse life, with many good and bad experiences, like most of us. I have been counselling since 2000. As a counsellor, I do not know how your life ought to be lived - no one knows the secret of living. What counselling can offer, however, is the strength and trust to help you approach life with a renewed sense of direction.
My personal strength as a counsellor is in helping you to work through deep rooted, distressing experiences which are sometimes connected to the past, whilst not overlooking what your needs are now. I do believe that we can learn a great deal from the past but we do not have to live in it.
My work is face to face long and short term.
