About me

I work as a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist using the psychodynamic approach for about 20 years.

The psychodynamic approach is a therapeutic process that aims at helping patients to make sense of their problems by increasing awareness of their inner world and its influence over relationships both past and present. This is a form of depth psychology in which the unconscious content of a client's psyche is explored in order to alleviate psyche tension. It is usually an open-ended intervention.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified as a Clinical, Counselling and Forensic Psychologist in 1999 and I am registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). Since my graduation, I have worked in a variety of settings as well as in a private practice. I am experienced in working with children, adolescents and adults as well as couples and families. My experience also extends to working with refugees and inmates in the UK and abroad.

I have a post-graduation qualification in Forensic, Intercultural and Neuropsychological Assessment and have studied Psychoanalysis since 1994 abroad and in the UK.

In private practice, I work with a range of presenting issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, separation, divorce, bereavement, eating disorders and other issues.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

Health and Care Professions Council

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
